Li Lianjie, better known by his stage name Jet Li, is a Chinese film actor, film producer, martial artist, and retired Wushu champion. He is a naturalized Singaporean citizen.
Pure Evil explains that a chance email from a Chinese “copy village” gave impetus to his “Nightmare Series.” The village offered, via email, a list of artists it could reproduce, and included 3 lo-res images from each famous artist they could reproduce. Andy Warhol’s entire lifetime's artistic output had been edited down to three small 64 x64 pixel thumbnails of Jackie Kennedy, Liz Taylor and an Electric Chair. The 2 portraits still looked fabulous as tiny jpegs, and they became the inspiration for these doomed and dripping celebrity portraits.
